Overview
The Global News Cloud is a new-generation integrated news production and broadcasting platform for China Media Group (CMG), built to support a world-class mainstream broadcaster's domestic and international mission. With Beijing as its core and stations, reporter posts, and individual journalists as its reach, it gives the whole network a lightweight, mobile, and intelligent production system.
Challenge
Delivering on a "5G + 4K/8K + AI" strategy meant reporters needed to acquire once and publish everywhere — fast, secure, and manageable across radio, television, and new media. Legacy tools couldn't move at the speed of a modern news cycle or reach the field with a laptop and a phone.
Fragmented topic and manuscript flow
Submitting topics and supplying manuscripts across separate content centers was slow and hard to track, capping how much a reporter could publish.

Getting to breaking events quickly, and relaying material back for production and broadcast in time, demanded lightweight mobile capability the old systems lacked.
