Overview

REG-1024 is a high-density embedded recording unit that doubles as an IP gateway. A 2RU chassis records 10 channels of 4K ST 2110 or SDI and loops the other format straight out — feed it 10 IP signals and it loops out 10 SDI for the baseband plant; feed it 10 SDI and it loops out 10 IP for the ST 2110 side. Each unit carries a 4 TB hot-swappable NVMe SSD and mirrors every encode.

Challenge

Hybrid plants run ST 2110 and SDI side by side, and the recording tier sits in the middle of it — expected to capture either format while still feeding the other one downstream, without a second rack of converters.
